What Microsoft actually wants to see in an audit
A Microsoft audit (often conducted through the Business Software Alliance / BSA) checks three things: the number of licences in use, the licence type/edition per workstation, and proof of purchase for every single licence. The decisive point: a proper invoice with stated VAT in the Swiss format is sufficient as proof of purchase in the vast majority of cases.
If an audit procedure requires deeper licence-acquisition documentation (proof of licence origin, deletion at the previous owner), we provide it on request. The standard scope of delivery is the VAT invoice; any audit documentation beyond that is prepared upon specific need.
What we specifically offer SMEs
- VAT invoice as standard proof of purchase. One PDF invoice per order in the Swiss format, sufficient for most audit procedures.
- Licence-acquisition documentation on request. In the event of a specific audit, we provide the additional documentation free of charge, usually within 2 working days.
- Audit support from our team. If you have questions in the event of a specific audit, our German-speaking support will assist you, free of charge.
- Volume discount + licence-needs consulting. Discount from 2 licences, free initial consultation on licence-needs planning.
