Which Office for home use, without a subscription?

The answer in three steps

• Step 1: Perpetual licence instead of a subscription. Without a subscription means a perpetual licence. Office with a year in its name, that is Office 2024 or 2021, is the perpetual licence. Microsoft 365 is the subscription and is therefore ruled out.
• Step 2: Choose the edition. The classic package - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook - is already included with us in Office 2024 Standard. Only those who additionally need the Access database go for Professional Plus.
• Step 3: Settle on the version. Office 2024 for long-term use with updates until 2029. Office 2021 as a cheaper alternative for a tighter budget.
• The result for most people. Office 2024 Standard. This edition fully covers everyday home Office use including Outlook, entirely without a subscription.

Why Office 2024 Standard is the right fit for most people

Microsoft's cheapest edition is called Office Home 2024 - it includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, but no Outlook. We do not carry this pure Home edition. Our entry point is Office 2024 Standard: the same programs plus Outlook for email and calendar, as a perpetual licence entirely without a subscription. For letters, spreadsheets, presentations, school and university, that is completely sufficient.

This makes Standard the well-rounded choice for most private users: you get the full Office suite including Outlook, without having to switch to a larger edition. Office Home & Business 2024 offers practically the same scope and is an alternative depending on the daily price. Only those who additionally need the Access database or the complete program suite should look further to Professional Plus.
