The two Office 2019 editions compared
Office 2019 Home and Business includes the four core apps. Professional Plus additionally includes Publisher for layout tasks and Access for databases. Anyone who needs Publisher or Access can only manage with Professional Plus; otherwise, Home and Business is sufficient.

An important note on support status
Before you decide between the two editions, one point needs to be put on the table: Office 2019 has passed its regular support period. There are no more regular security updates. Office 2019 does still run, but it is no longer the first choice for productive primary use.
Today, an Office 2019 edition really only makes sense if a specific application requires exactly this version. For all other new purchases, Office 2024 is the clear recommendation, with security updates until October 2029. The edition comparison is therefore mainly relevant when Office 2019 is fixed for a concrete reason.
