Install Office 2024 Professional Plus

This guide shows you how to download, install and activate Office 2024 Professional Plus on a Windows PC using your licence key. You received the 25-character product key by email from Keywi24 after your purchase, so keep that email to hand.

System requirements

Before installing, check that your PC meets the requirements:

• Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
• Memory: at least 4 GB RAM
• Hard drive: around 5 GB of free disk space
• Display: resolution of 1280 × 768 pixels or higher
• Internet connection for download and activation

Note: Office 2024 no longer runs on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1. If you use an older system, choose Office 2021 or an earlier version.

Preparation: remove pre-installed Office

Many new PCs come with a trial version of Microsoft 365 or an older version of Office pre-installed. Two Office installations running side by side often cause activation errors, so remove the old version first:

1. Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
2. Look for entries such as "Microsoft 365" or "Microsoft Office".
3. Click Uninstall and follow the instructions.
4. Then restart the PC.

Download Office 2024

Download the offline installer for Office 2024 Professional Plus directly from our download page. You do not need a Microsoft account for this.

1. Open the download page and select Office 2024 Professional Plus.
2. Download the offline installer. Depending on your internet connection, the download takes a few minutes.
3. Save the file somewhere you can find it again, for example in the Downloads folder.

Installation step by step

1. Double-click the downloaded file. If it is an ISO file, Windows mounts the image automatically as a virtual drive.
2. Double-click Setup.exe to start it and confirm the User Account Control prompt with Yes.
3. The installation then runs through automatically. No further input is needed.
4. Wait until the message appears saying that Office is installed, then close the window.

Activation with the licence key

1. Open an Office app, for example Word.
2. Click File in the top left, then Account.
3. Select Change product key or Activate licence.
4. Enter the 25-character product key from your Keywi24 email. The safest way is to copy and paste it directly from the email.
5. Confirm with Next. Office checks the key online and unlocks the licence permanently.

Telephone activation: With some keys (especially volume licences), Office suggests activating by telephone. This is normal and not a conversation: an automated Microsoft system takes the installation ID shown on screen and gives you a confirmation ID to type in. Common problems

• Key is not accepted: Check for typing errors. Common mix-ups are 'B' and '8' or 'G' and '6'. It is best to copy the key directly from the email.
• "Unlicensed Product" message: Usually a remnant of an old Office or Microsoft 365 installation is still active. Uninstall the old version, restart and repeat the activation.
• "Key has already been used": After a reinstallation on the same PC, this message is normal. In this case, use the automated telephone activation.
• Wrong edition installed: The key only matches the Professional Plus edition. Use the installer from our download page and not a Microsoft 365 setup file.
