Activating Microsoft Office

The best way to activate Office (2019, 2021, 365) is directly through your Microsoft account.

Make sure that you have already installed your desired Office programs:

  1. Open a program such as Word or Excel.
  2. Click on File at the top left and then on Account at the bottom.
  3. Select Activate license or Change product key.
  4. Enter the key to unlock the software.

Help with problems

If something doesn't work, please quickly check these points:

  • Avoid typos: Watch out for mix-ups such as 'Q' and '0' or 'B' and '8'.
  • Correct version: A "Home" key does not activate a "Pro" version of Windows. Check under Settings > System > About which version is installed.
  • Remove pre-installations: Uninstall pre-installed "trial versions" of Office (often present on new laptops) before installing your purchased version.
